Strategic Plan 2021-2024
June 2, 2021
For the past 49 years, the NativityMiguel Coalition of faith-based private schools has helped students become their authentic and best version of themselves. Our work with our school communities has been essential in creating better futures for our students, but we mustn’t stop here. We are in a pivotal time as thought leaders. We must ask ourselves, “What’s next?”
While our member schools have made fantastic progress since the first NativityMiguel school opened in 1971, this country still has significant barriers impeding the growth of our communities. It was a bold, radical idea to open a NativityMiguel school to ensure students are afforded the opportunities they deserve. That radical idea has morphed into 49 member schools committed to supporting their communities and the Coalition at large.
To celebrate our 50th anniversary this fall, NMC is planning for the next half-century. Our new strategic plan outlines the critical initiatives that must happen if we are to continue leading and supporting our students and alumni, who are our future and America’s future. These initiatives will draw on the diverse energies of our member schools, while simultaneously finding new ways to unify members in a shared and revitalized mission and vision.
All work and initiatives of our plan are rooted in our reaffirmation of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice. Our member schools are diverse in the communities we serve, the cultures we celebrate, and the cities in which we reside. We strive for equity because we see the human dignity of all, especially our students and alumni. We will include all community members in the continued development and improvements of the NativityMiguel model and our outcomes. Our commitment to Justice leads us to challenge social, cultural, and economic inequalities that have systemically hurt our communities.
Where will NMC be in the next 50 years? With your support, exactly where our students need us to be.
With Gratitude and Admiration,
